What is augmentation?
Short answer
Using AI to help a person do a task better or faster while they stay in charge, as opposed to automation, where the machine does the task instead.
For example
A doctor using AI to flag possible problems on X-rays, while still making the diagnosis, is augmentation. A system that diagnoses alone would be automation.
